Blu Mist Restaurant & Bar

Blu Mist Restaurant & Bar

Hello loves,

Over the weekend I checked out a new brunch spot, Blu Mist. This place has been around for sometime now but as of this Saturday they started their brunch menu so of course I had to check it out. I was intrigue when I saw it on instagram “brunch with a Thai twist” and thought I HAVE to go this weekend. So I grabbed my favorite gals and we set to meet there on Sunday.

With bottomless mimosas for $3 and bloody Mary’s at $6 it’s an affordable start to a Sunday Funday. The Bloody Mary that was served today was the Joe’s Special Spicy Red Curry Bloody Mary with house cured/ smoked crispy bork belly garnish. Even though I have returned to drinking I stuck to a cup of coffee which was from a local shop Allan’s Brothers.

So let’s talk about the interior. You walk in to be greeted by the host with a waiting area to the side that’s full of natural light and neutral tones.

The waiting area features a mix of wood with natural accents and a light colored couch.

The Asian Fusion restaurant boasts a full-bar and drinking menu with fun cocktails like the blu mist, gold dust and Santa Rosa.

We start walking towards are seating area where the seats are a beautiful blue jeweled hue and the lighting fixtures are hanging off beautiful wooden pallets as we’re surrounded by rock and wood elements in the dining area.

Some items that jumped off the brunch menu to me were the Smoked Salmon Benedict, Three Egg Omelette, Steak & Eggs and Baked Oysters with Ginger Aioli. I decided to go for the Three Egg Omelette

Three egg omelette featuring pork belly, oyster mushrooms, onions and cheese.

My friend Ellen and the other girls were actually more interested in the lunch menu and they all got sandwiches! I’m glad we all got something a little different as we were all able to get a good sense of the taste of the different menu items.

I think if you’re feeling really hungry go for a lunch item and if you’re in the breakfast mood go for a brunch item. It’s great that they have so many options for everyone! My plate was the perfect size and I was very satisfied afterward. Overall, I really loved the mix of brunch and Thai but in a more upscale, luxe way. I feel like this is definitely something Eugene needed and I will be back!

Blu Mist is located in Eugene, Oregon by the Valley River Center off Valley River Drive.

  • Oh, you had me at Thai twist. I love Thai food and how fun that they incorporated that with the brunch menu. The decor is beautiful and I love all the natural light and light woods. Such a perfect brunch spot! The mimosas are such a great deal and I would love to try that Bloody Mary as well. The omelet looks so good (even than the sandwiches imo). I think I will be in Portland in February so I must try this place! xoxo, Christine

  • Blu Mist sounds lovely! With a description of brunch with a Thai twist, I definitely would have been intrigued to visit too! The food and cocktails look and sound so robust with flavor! The interior is beautiful! I love that there’s natural lighting too and not just because I’m a blogger. lol It seems like you must be feeling better and I hope you are since the last post I read. You definitely inspire me to get out and document more of my local brunch places!

  • OMG I drove through Eugene recently and wish I could have stopped here! I do love me some omlettes but that pork belly sandwich looks very tempting and tasty. I love Thai food so this Thai brunch would be perfect for me! I will visit Blu Mist next time I’m in Oregon!

  • Fun fact: All of the wood in the restaurant is from a reclaimed tree that was sitting in a bottom of a pond in Eugene for over a hundred years!!

  • Blu Mist seems like my kind of place for sure! I like the Thai twist they got in the menu and the Bloody Mary sounded bloody good, haha. As for all the different things you girls tried I could go for one of those sandwiches right now as well. The decor is beautiful and sober and leaves nothing left to wish for!
    Thanks for the tip!
