Chow in Bend
Over the weekend I had a four day mountain getaway at a nearby city called Bend. Bend is most known for the Deschutes Brewery and river along with great outdoor activities and beautiful scenery.
It started by frolicking around Bend and checking out local breweries like Bend Brewing Company and Deschutes followed by checking in at The Oxford Hotel in the heart of downtown. It was seriously such a cute little town. I fell in love with it. Friday morning, we checked out of our hotel and headed to our AirBnb in the mountains before heading out for brunch.
We decided to go to a farm-to-table restaurant called Chow which is said to be a favorite among locals. My favorite part? The fact that they had so many different kinds of eggs benedict. Seriously you cannot go wrong with having so many options. I went with the gluten-free Blackstone Benedict which featured smoked bacon, sautéed spinach, poached eggs and béarnaise sauce all on a bed of cornmeal crusted tomatoes (instead of an English muffin) and a side salad. Luke got the special of the day which was the French Toast covered with bananas, chocolate and candied walnuts.
Take a look at what we chowed down on.
I didn’t take as many pictures of the trip as I had hoped. I was really trying to enjoy my vacation while it lasted.
Anyway, if you ever go to Bend, I highly recommend trying this out. It was seriously so good. I plan to go back. Other than trying out different breweries and walking along the river, the food in Bend is seriously amazing. So of course I had to try out their brunch.
What’s your favorite thing to do while you’re on vacation? Do you like to unplug and scope out all the local places?
