The Cutest Coffee Date Look ( & New Updates)

The Cutest Coffee Date Look ( & New Updates)

Hello loves!

The end of summer is near and Brunchinista has been going hard for the last six months now so I figured I’d update you guys on everything that’s been happening! I can honestly say when I first started this blog I didn’t ever even really realize how big it would become or what that even meant. This year has been a whirlwind with some serious changes and I thought what better time to fill you guys in!

I started blogging back in 2011 when blogging was like a myth and cute “hobby” to do and only some big names were kinda doing it and being recognized for it. When I moved to the PNW I felt like I really needed to refocus on what I was doing and what I really wanted out of the next five years. Fast-forward to now and I’ve gone through a crazy knee injury, I got into a car accident, was laid off from my job and all in the process of that, I never stopped blogging and never EVER gave up on my true passion to continue to write even when things got tough.

I know you see most bloggers on social media and think “OMG she’s doing so awesome,” but I’ve been in the midst of what seems like the longest transition for me in the last year and it wasn’t easy (despite how fabulous I made my brunches look and effortless my outfit seemed.) It was hard.  It was extremely overwhelming but I overcame all of that because my drive never stopped me from getting what I wanted and to this day it’s what ALWAYS keeps me going. I never lost sight of what I wanted for my future and I continued to blog because in spite of all the BAD things that have happened to me this year, I knew in my heart that if I continued to build my brand that eventually something would come of it.

I was lucky enough to land my dream job that I seriously am so beyond excited about and really was all a matter of timing. On my day off in the midst of transitioning from the old to the new, I took a moment to breathe and really appreciate what the last year has given me. I met up with my photographer Whitney Lily who is like a breath of fresh air. I feel like we’ve been friends for so long even though I’ve only known her for a month or so.

We talked about our goals, our future and how crazy this social media driven world we live in has become all about followers, numbers and not this true raw content that we aspire to create on the daily. We connect on that human level that really is hard to find. We linked up at Slightly Coffee Roasters which seriously has some AMAZING homemade cold brew.  I’m hoping that we can continue to grow together and you can see some exciting stuff that we’re planning to work on.

In the next few weeks my schedule is crazed by events. I’m heading to Washington for a concert followed by a tasting event in Portland, my birthday weekend, a trip to the coast and last but not least the thing I’ve been DREAMING of before I even moved here is, Feast Portland. You guys know how much I love any foodie event and this is literally the ultimate event to go to! So make sure to follow my adventures as I’ll be posting on IG stories all weekend. I’ll be hitting up the brunch village, the drink tank and a grand tasting event. Feast Portland will take place Sept. 14-17. Seriously cannot wait. For now, here’s literally the cutest coffee date outfit at my new fave spot in town.

  • Im so happy that you are having fun and enjoying doing what you do! It makes me so happy when people genuinely care about what they are putting out there and not only care about how many people are following them. I really like your dress too! 🙂

  • Dear Jacqueline,

I can’t wait for September 14th to watch all your stories and read posts from the event. I’m grateful for being a blogger. too:)
I absolutely adore your coffee date look. This dress is literally the cutest and I like these golden shoes.

  • Loving this post! I so get where you are coming from.. here at the luxe were also constantly evolving and never expected starting. Out to turn into what it is today! I do feel if you have passion and drive you can create something amazing and form a career out of it .. it’s amazing what you can do with that extra push!

Keep up the hard work! All the best to you!

  • These are such right words! It’s hard to find people who are willing to participate in your life outside of social media space and it’s so important to embrace these connections. For me, regular dates with my friends at coffee shops is a great way to talk about what is happening in my life – both struggles and successes – and just connect on a human level!

It’s so great that you were able to overcome all the difficulties and continue on blogging — it shows your personality and how dedicated you are to what you do. Keep doing a great job as we, your readers and followers, really believe in you!
