End of the Year Chill

End of the Year Chill

Hello darlings,

As I was thinking about what I would make my last post about, I realized that this will be my last post for 2016.

I spent this past weekend reflecting on what the last six months have brought and what has come of this blog that I just started about two and a half months ago.  I realized how much has changed. I mean I stood out in 30 degree weather taking pictures with two other friends while I was freezing my butt off.

It is this time in which I call the” end of the year chill”, where I’ve had some harsh realities — one of which is that I no longer live in LA. I will no longer see familiar faces when I’m out at brunch or shopping at the Grove/Americana during the holidays. But it also comes with a nice resounding closure seeing how much I’ve transformed myself, my blogging and my career. I ask all of you to think about the things you love the most, the big accomplishments you’ve made this year and think about how amazing you are because despite what everyone is saying, 2016 wasn’t bad. It was just full of change and that’s something to embrace.

On a lighter note, I’m done being all sentimental — so take a look of some photos of me in a parka that is literally my savior. I got it at Ross cause who pays for things at retail price right? It’s DKNY and it’s waterproof. Exactly what I needed. You can actually find the olive green version of this at Nordstrom rack right now. I’m also wearing my new fave stacking pieces by Pure Vida that are a little reminders to remain positive no matter what life throws at me.

{H&M tunic, Splendid top, Olivia & Joy knee high socks, BCBGeneration boots and bag}

If you’re wondering how I didn’t turn into an icicle, I honestly have no idea.

Also you can get your own Pure Vida bracelet using my code BRUNCHINISTA20 to get 20% off!

Now that’s something worth celebrating! What are some of your accomplishments/goals?

What will you do to end the year on a positive note?

Let me know in the comments.

xxo,

Jacqueline

  • I launched my blog, with nearly no knowledge, and although it’s still small, it’s growing! That’s a big accomplishment to me this year! I also earned my Yoga Teacher Training certification in 2016, what a year it’s been! In the new year I plan to get more posts done regularly, as well as launch my VA business! Thanks for sharing this great post!

  • Lovely post! Very nice outfit. Love your knee high boots. Winter here can go down to 10 degree F with lots of snow. Throwing a New Year Eve Party in our new house! Happy New Year to you!

  • I can totally relate to this because although I live in Rhode Island , where we experience 4 seasons, I always want to take my pictures outside and I don’t always want to wear coats ! Your coat is truly gorgeous and I am going to use your code for a Pure Vida bracelet! Thank you so much!!

  • I can’t believe you’ve only had your blog for 2.5 months? Wow, such amazing work girl. And this parka is such a great find too. Nordstrom Rack has been having their sale and I’ve been finding many good things too for cheap. Ross is another great place to go!

  • What a great post! I am glad that you were able to further your blogging and career this year! I have thought about moving and sometimes it’s hard, because LA is my home and all I know. It’s great that you were able to take the leap of faith!

    Happy 2017!

  • Wow you have done so well in a short amount of time!
    Well done
I love that parka so stylish and even better when it’s a bargain
Hope you had a great new year

  • Well for one, you don’t have to meet fake people in LA. Haha. I’m just kidding. Change is always hard, but I think by reflecting on our blessings, we really learn to appreciate what has happened. Just like you said. 🙂

Love the parka! It looks so warm.

  • Blogging is harder than it looks, that’s why after 4 years and a half I decided to start over with a new blog, a new name, a new everything! I hope you’ll accomplish all your goals in 2017!

  • I can’t believe you switched LA weather to the cold weather state! Honestly it’s my dream to live in warm climate as I can’t state wearing layers of clothes and constantly being cold. But it’s just me! This adorable jacket seems super warm though and it seems like you know how to deal with the cold weather!

Yep blogging is not easy, but I’m so glad that you are following your passion and achieve success in it! Wishing you many more successes in 2017!!!

  • 30 degrees! Well, you sure did an amazing job shooting this! Moving away from friends and family is never any fun, especially not being able to see them around the holidays. But I guess the upside is that you get to meet new people, experience cool new places and start new traditions of your own. I hope you have an amazing 2017! 🙂

  • Girl, I LOVE your positive take on 2016! You’re so right, it was just full of change, which can be scary for many, but all we can do is embrace it, learn from it, and move on. Sounds like you are off to an amazing start to the new year. I know that with your beautiful attitude and personality, you will persevere! Also major kudos for shooting such a pretty look in cold weather. Totally feel you on finding a great deal – I’m all about the good finds and deals as well! You look fab in that parka! 🙂
