My Favorite Everyday Tote (& Finding Happiness Through Adversity)

My Favorite Everyday Tote (& Finding Happiness Through Adversity)

Hello loves!

Hope you all had a Happy New Year! I wanted to share with you a couple of my favorite everyday things as of late. If you’re wondering what my favorite everyday bag to carry is or what long cardigan I’m always wearing, this post is for you. But first, I wanted to talk about some 2017 reflections before jumping right into the totes that I’ve been carrying with me everywhere I go.

2017 held a lot of challenges for many of us. There were a lot of ups, a lot of downs, disappointments, accomplishments, etc. I’ve been pretty transparent about my challenges throughout my journey of moving to Oregon, dealing with allergies, making new friends and finding my place in Eugene.

For this post I wanted to talk about the good stuff. It’s so easy to think back on the year and think man it was such a bad year. Do we say this every single year and then thinks THIS YEAR (insert year) will be my year. I mean if you think you’re not going to face challenges then that’s a very unrealistic view to have in life. I can definitely say with my heart that I know I had a very challenging year and probably the hardest one yet. But I also had a really great year. I move into a house for the first time, I went Feast Portland, traveled several times to Portland for blogger events, partnered with Google (seriously so awesome), got a new amazing job that I love every single day, retaught myself how to walk after a crazy injury, failed so many times and just kept getting right back up, met new friends and lost some old ones, and lastly I found

So despite how challenging the year was I’m grateful for everything that has happened. In flying back to LA I learned to appreciate my little town a little more. In traveling to Portland I realized I wanted more for myself that actually has nothing to do with blogging, in having trouble making friends I recognized who the good one’s were, and lastly landing the dream job I had wanted before even moving to Oregon, that really was the cherry on top of the year.

We will all face challenges in life. We will all fail over and over. Let’s go into this year moving forward, accepting change and most importantly remaining focused.

Part of my New Year’s resolution this year is to be less wasteful. I am that person that goes to the grocery store and buys bags every single time. Since getting the 24 oz tote, I carry it with me every single day. I can throw in my laptop, throw it in my car for groceries, travel with it as my carry-on and literally take it with me EVERYWHERE. It’s the more eco-conscious thing to do instead of buying bags over and over at the grocery store.

The Everyday Tote is great for a classier look on the go. Great for travel and wearing with everyday with cute outfits. Bonus? Both of these bags have a lifetime guarantee. Will Leather Goods prides itself on creating leather goods that are designed to endure and inspire you in your everyday life. How I wear my Will? I styled it with a long cardigan, a Free People top, skinny jeans from Hudson and a pair of Chelsea boots from Be Dewulf. Scroll down how I styled my Everyday Tote and 24 oz Tote.

I hope you all enjoyed my reflections post. Are you the type of person to buy a bag and wear it on repeat?

Let me know in the comments below if you’ve got an everyday tote you love or if you’d wear any of these!

  • Great reminder to buy quality shit the first time! I remember when I moved to OR and I bought a bunch of canvas grocery bags. The Everyday Tote is SO much nicer. I am definitely the type of person to buy one bag and wear it constantly. I have a bunch of smaller cute purses that I never use because I’d rather have my good ol’ leather purse. And I’m wearing a long cardigan right now, so…;)

    • Yes! It’s so important to buy quality products to me. It’s worth the investment! I’m the same way. I have a bunch of small purses and never use them. They just sit in my closet. When you find something good you just keep wearing it 🙂 Long cardigans are my jam!

  • That leather tote looks super durable and the quality looks amazing even in the photos. I can tell that it’s going to last you a long time. I’m a firm believer of the motto: “You get what you pay for.” I’m glad you’re adjusting to OR life. I really miss OR, but I love living in LA and all the opportunities that this bigger city has offered me so far. Cheers to a wonderful year!

  • In some ways I find that the challenging years are the best years for growth and you always feel like you’ve accomplished so much from them. It sounds like you’ve had a great journey and so glad you’ve got a job you love! I definitely love a good oversized catch all tote because I find myself with more and more crap everyday to lug around and I expect this is going to be even more once the bubs arrives 😉

  • Happy new year babe!! I absolutely love both bags and the pictures. I’m sure this will be the perfect bag for me on my travels. Tote bags are always so comfy and these 2 in particular looks like the best travel buddy and you can fit lots of them which make it perfect for me. I also prefer to but something that will last longer.

  • First of all! I absolutely love the quality of these pictures, the atmosphere is amazing, and the depth of field is just on point!
As for the Everyday Tote, this is definitely my cup of tea. I like the classic and rather simple design, and I bet it’s quite comfy, right? The second one if my favourite!

  • Hi dear!
Such a great New Year resolution! I’ve thought of it after visiting Iceland, where all people are eco-conscious. Love your 24 oz tote bag and how you combine it with Chelsea boots from Be Dewulf.

  • 2017 was a year I was glad to be done with and while contemplating that I too had to stop and think about all the amazing things that have happened in the year as well! I’m all for quality of quantity… meaning by it once pay a bit more and have it last years or buy it cheap and have to keep buying it over and over to continue to cost you money! Your 24 oz tote is absolutely perfect and I have to admit that while I like to buy things once, I tend to hoard bags like this! Woops. Also, your images are so dark and mysterious and they are seriously magnetizing! I love!

  • Cheers to 2018! Wishing you a happy and positive year! It is so hard to focus on the positive, when negatives keep getting in the way. That is why I love this post! I love that your resolution is to be less wasteful! I need to implement this as well. Carrying recycled bags in my car should definitely help me with this.

  • Oh dear how I understand you. I changed my life 3 times in other costries and I know what do you mean lost friends and get a new ones O broker also my anke in 3 bones and used crutches for 86 days lol. We are strong women’s and every experience make us more stronger. Thanks to sharing your story

  • Such a great resolution to be less wasteful. There are so many ways that each of us can make a positive impact on the environment. This tote is so cute and versatile. Your photos are just lovely. I love all of the greenery, seems like you moved to a beautiful place!
