My Fourth of July Brunch Essentials

My Fourth of July Brunch Essentials

Hello Darlings!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! I literally spent five days basking in the sun, being extremely productive, meeting with bloggers, setting up meetings and collaborations and enjoying some BBQing with friends. It was a very busy vacation but it’s crazy what you can do with your time off! It felt really good to focus all my energy on my blog and do all the things I love. I went to brunch I think twice and tried some new spots I’ve been meaning to try. The weather was perfect so I decided to bring out some of my favorites!

One of the most memorable brunches that I’ve had in a long time was this passed Sunday. For me to say that I’d say it’s pretty big. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve had a lot of delicious food but nothing compared to the experience I had this past weekend.

As usual my blogger friend and I met for our usual monthly meet-up and I picked a place I’ve been meaning to try (she loves when I pick fun places cause it’s always an adventure!)

We headed over Lion and Owl, a 1970s style airstream that holds a restaurant and quaint kitchen inside. Since the weather allowed I wanted to be sporting my fave red, white and blue outfit without over doing it.  I recently got this new straw hat cause I had been DYING to get one that says 5 o’clock somewhere” (very me if you know me) and had to wear it to brunch with my fave Shein bell sleeve top and a pair of LF crochet shorts. I finished my look off with my new Lucky Brand booties and a pair of bold statement earrings from SugarFix by BaubleBar.

The parking situation is a little confusing so I’d recommend parking on the street. Cherin and I headed over to L+O where outdoor seating is available but we opted for indoor – it was too cute to pass up. I ordered a regular mimosa while she had the seasonal which was a strawberry mimosa to start off our brunch. The menu is really interesting – unlike anything I’ve ever had before. I ordered the Sugar and Spice Pork Belly which had berries on top while Cherin ordered the Fennel Leek Bread Pudding.

How did you spend your holiday weekend?

  • Omg this outfit is seriously right on the money! It looks so great, definitely not loud but just enough to be festive. I’m not much of a meat eater, but that looks delicious!

  • OMG Babe this sounds amazing! We spent the holiday weekend at the farm with our family– it was so lovely to escape! That mimosa looks amazing: even the strawberry one and I ABSOLUTELY adore your hat! Too cute!

  • I just ordered an off-the-shoulder bell sleeve top from Shein, and now I’m more excited than ever about it! The food looks divine – I have a weak spot for bread pudding. I spent my July 4th with my best college girlfriends in Nashville!

  • I love the concept of a restaurant inside of an Airstream. That sounds too cute and the food looks amazing. Who would’ve thought pork belly and berries go together? The bread pudding looks insanely delicious too. I think that straw hat is too cute and perfect for summer. It goes well with the bell sleeved top and booties. The 4th was spent with family and friends and a little fireworks for me. Glad to hear you had a wonderful 4th! xoxo, Christine

  • Whoa, the pork belly dish is something I’ve never seen before. Did it taste more like an Asian style pork belly dish? I mean, it looks amazing! I didn’t really do much during the holiday, but just watched The Office. Haha. It’s good at least one of us were productive. 😛

  • I would have never thought to put pork belly and fresh berries together, but I am intrigued! Lol I would definitely give it a try. I love that they are located in an old Airstream, feeds into my 70s obsession. And love your fabulous 4th look!

  • Unfortunately I was still in Sweden for the 4th and arrived to NYC on the 9th, but that didn’t stop me from being patriotic. I wore an all denim outfit with my Tommy Hilfiger jacket with an American on it so I celebrated abroad so to speak. As for a monthly meet up with your friend that is a lovely idea and you obviously have great taste in places as this made my mouth water too. And I KNOW you know your brunches, so if you say this was exceptionally good I totally trust you and put it on my bucket list. As for your outfit, it’s perfect for the Fourth and I’m glad you had time to both have fun as well as be productive! Way to go! 🙂
