Lavender Festival Dreams

Lavender Festival Dreams

Hello darlings,

I hope you’re all having a good summer. It’s been a full year since I’ve lived in Eugene which is CRAZY to think. One of the main things I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do before even moving here was to attend the lavender festival. I absolutely love lavender and it gave my a reason to dress up head-to-toe in the cutest boho look.

For me, summer means wearing maxi dresses to vineyards, frolicking around nature and being able to finally wear those breezy styles I’ve been eyeing for months . It’s not just about music festivals like Coachella or {insert name of any music festival that exists – seriously there’s too many too name.} And let’s get real. Boho is in no matter what time of year it is.

So I finally took it upon myself to wear this gorgeous maxi from Forever 21 that’s got a totally cute off-the-shoulder style and is affordable too! It’s perfect for wine galavanting, brunching, and whatever your free spirit feels! Some of you already know my obsession with lavender so I had to hit up this festival before it ended. I went to meet up with my photographer Whitney Lily in the middle of field by the MaKenzie River. If you’ve never been to a lavender festival it’s the perfect opportunity to handpick lavender, grab a refreshing lavender lemonade and enjoy some art. P.S. You can find my lavender simple syrup recipe here.

Key pieces you’ll need: floppy medallion hat, breezy maxi dress, western style booties and layering necklaces. You can find more boho pieces here. I know this isn’t your typical brunch style, but sometimes it’s fun to get out of your comfort zone, head into nature and really enjoy what the PNW has to offer. When people ask me if I love it here, I say “yeah it’s pretty cool.”  From heading to the coast, to brunching at local restaurants that really care about their ingredients, to fun little festivals that you can really only experience in a small town, there’s really just about everything. And if I ever miss the city, there’s always Portland just a short drive away. For now, here is the breeziest look for all your lavender festival dreams.

  • I can’t get over the fact that the dress you’re wearing is from forever21! How incredible, it looks like it’s amazing quality and it wears so well! I have to say, these are by far my most favorite pics of you, your outfit, the hair, the background… beautiful!

    • Awww you’re so sweet! I know it’s all in how you wear it! I love wearing cheaper. pieces with more expensive ones. It creates a good balance

  • Wow, such beautiful fields of lavendar! I can totally picture running through the fields too and this would be exactly what I would wear – a floppy hat and off the shoulder maxi dress. What a lovely background to take photos in. I hope you got to take some lavendar home and use the scent in your bathroom or closet or even use some in your tea! You look amazing and your hair looks gorgeous too. xoxo, Christine

  • Apart from your boho chic look being ever so cute and as you said, not bound to festival season at all, I’m in love with everything lavender going on so I actually had to google what a lavender festival is. I googled Lavender Festival Eugene and got to know that it’s a statewide festival held in all of Oregon where you there are local artisans who sell their work and you can pick a bouquet of lavender or even get plants to your own garden. I’ve never been to Oregon, but now I have a huge reason to go there! Do correct me if I googled it wrong 🙂

  • Oh this sounds absolutely lovely! Lavender fields! I’ve never been to one but I’m such a fan! I put lavender oil on and in everything! The funny thing is, I don’t particularly love the scent of lavender however, the medicinal properties and relaxing quality help me to pay no mind to it not being my favorite scent! Not to mention the lavender plant is just beautiful! Oh and I have to say, that lavender lemonade sounds delicious! I love your beautiful and affordable dress from Forever 21! It’s funny some things I’ve gotten from them have outlasted my designer duds!

  • Eugene sounds like a darling town, and that Lavender festival sounds so fun! You chose the perfect look for this special outing as well. I’m a huge fan of hats, but never once thought to try a medallion hot like in your look. What a fun way add some extra oomph to the hat! And that pretty OTS maxi is such a great find from F21. Beautiful summer boho look babe!
