The Latest Brunch to Try in South Eugene: Viking Braggot

As someone who is always on the hunt for new places to try in Eugene, I was excited to find out that that there was a new spot in South Eugene to try for brunch, Viking Braggot.

If you live on the South side, I’m sure you’ve noticed that there aren’t a ton of places to have good breakfast food. So, if you love a good braggot (beer and fermented honey) and are looking for a place to enjoy breakfast food, this is the newest weekend brunch you have to try. Not a huge beer fan? They’ve also got mimosas for $3 and bloodies for $9.

While I was a little weary myself trying a brewery pub for breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised by their tidy savory menu. Country style biscuits and gravy, huevos rancheros, breakfast foccacia, are a few of the menu options.

I went for the huevos rancheros which were SERIOUSLY some of the best I’ve had in Eugene. I’m not sure I’ve had them many places to be honest but these are savory and absolutely filling for $9! What a steal. It almost felt like I was having a delicious breakfast lasagna and I was totally okay with that.

Layered tortillas & cheese, smothered in spicy smoky sauce. Topped with a fried egg, guac, cumin crema, black olives, green onion, black bean & corn

My friend Cherein ordered the biscuits and gravy which was basically a giant biscuit that was big enough to share!

While neither of us ordered drinks, the coffee option was just as good for us both. It’s hard for me to want to order a mimosa (bleh headaches) or a Bloody Mary ( hello I’m drunk half way through) without feeling like I’m too old to be drinking for breakfast.

I definitely plan on going back since my boyfriend is a huge fan of braggot and loves the Southtowne pub location.

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you end up trying it out, let me know in the comments what you thought! Heck, tell me what you ordered and how it was so I can go back and get that next time.

Hope you all have a fabulous New Year. See you in 2019!
